Visit Our Episode Database
We host custom fan-made episodes, that is, collection of
levels (or maps) that you can play in the game. To download episodes that
people have made and sent us, visit our Episode
Database. You will find all sorts of interesting bits and pieces varying from
one-level episodes to episodes with tens of levels to play! Everything from classic Janne
Kivilahti style to modern space travel adventure.
Welcome to PK2Lib!
Hello and welcome to the Pekka Kana 2 Library
(PK2Lib for short) — a semi-official fan-driven project that provides a database of
free episodes (collection of game maps) and other resources for
Pekka Kana 2, an old-school freeware 2D platformer!
We provide links for downloading maps & resources made by the fandom of Pekka Kana 2 and
publish reviews, tutorials and other additional stuff related to PK2.
All services provided are completely free, and all the episodes and resources published by
us are released under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike License.
Visit our Disclaimer and License page for more information.
If you have no clue what Pekka Kana 2 is all about, but are a friend of old-school platform
games, we recommend you take a look at our page about Pekka
Kana 2.
Other Downloads
We have tons of other resources than episodes, as well, like custom sprites, level
backgrounds and tilesets. You can find them in our
Resource Database.
We also have stuff to make your life easier, such as the unofficial sprite editor. We also
host all the other games produced by Piste Gamez, as well as all the soundtracks of those
games. See our Downloads main page for anything you might be
interested in downloading.
Having Trouble Running PK2?
We Have a Solution for You!
It has proven to be very tricky to get the original Pekka Kana 2 working on modern Windows
systems, such as Windows 7 and the most recent one, Windows 10. Your game might have weird
colors or black boxes around sprites — and in the worst case, the game might not run at all.
But fear not! We have multiple solutions for you! Our recommended solution is to use one of
the new versions developed by our brilliant community developers (see the box on the right).
If you insist on using the very original version available on Piste Gamez website, then our
recommendation is to utilize a program called DxWnd. For more information,
see
this forum thread
on the official Piste Gamez forum.
We Are Developing a New Version
As the source code of Pekka Kana 2 has been published and is open for everyone to play with,
we, as a community, are developing new versions of the game, more suitable for modern
operating systems. So far a succesfull project is Danilolc’s SDL port of the original
source. Another project is Pekka Kana 2: Community Edition which aims at adding features
desired by the community (such as checkpoints). For more information about these projects,
see our page for development.

We have loads of different kind of help articles and tutorials for understanding how the
